Is the CCH® Tagetik Analytical Information Hub (AIH) connected to cpmVision?
The data from the CCH® Tagetik AIH, Analytical Information Hub (previously know as Analytical Workspace), is available via the OData API. Unlike our standard intelligent datamodel for the Financial Workspace, the datamodel for the AIH will be custom built for your organisation.
For whom is cpmVision?

Sharing and consuming CCH® Tagetik data through Power BI lets you work wherever you are, in a safe and intuitive way. And, once in Power BI, it seamlessly integrates with Excel and Office.
How long does it take to implement cpmVision?
We need around 4 days get you started. This includes setting up the connection to CCH® Tagetik, Azure components and the Power BI environment. We see that it takes a few weeks to get it all done, including the admin training on the financial intelligent datamodel.
Can cpmVision connect to other data sources with CCH Tagetik?
This is what Power BI is built for, combining data from different sources. cpmVision effortlessly makes your CCH ® Tagetik data available in a financial intelligent datamodel Power BI. After this, you can start integrating your data with all the other sources available in Power BI.
Can cpmVision work with CCH® Tagetik Cloud?
Yes, most definitely. Together with the CCH® Tagetik we have been working on the OData connector (API), which now effortlessly connects to cpmVision.
Is it possible to create our own Power BI reports?
This is what Power BI is built for. Our solution effortlessly makes your CCH® Tagetik data available in Power BI and comes with a set of reports to inspire you.
With this you are ready to start creating your own reports and analysis. And yes, you can easily connect to our datamodel with Excel.
What do you need to use cpmVision?
Of course, you need CCH® Tagetik. End-users that collaborate around CCH® Tagetik with our datamodel, must be licensed to Power BI Pro. For the commenting solution you need a Power App subscription as well.
The cpmVision backend, the ETL that keeps your CCH® Tagetik data synchronized with the datamodel, runs in your companies Azure tenant.
Is the cpmVision connector working with live data?
The CCH® Tagetik data is refreshed several times per day into the in-memory Tabular datamodel. The number of maximum refreshes per day is depending on your Power BI subscription. We chose this near-real time setup since it performs better during reporting and analysis. The feedback from our users is that complex analyses on continuously changing data, does not make sense most of the time.
Can I manually refresh the data from CCH® Tagetik?
Yes, there is always the option to manually start the refresh of the data via our cpmVision Refresh App. Your admins can determine which users have access to this app.
Can cpmVision be used in our existing Power BI environment?
This is what Power BI is built for. Our solution effortlessly makes your CCH® Tagetik data available in Power BI. We are happy to assist you in integrating data models in Power BI.
Can I process comments in cpmVision?
Yes, with our cpmVision Commenting App you can collect and share live comments, in context of the current report. Meaning the comments are stored linked to the current filter set.
What is the difference between a generic CCH® Tagetik Power BI connector and cpmVision?
cpmVision is a full serviced solution that, with a standardized, Azure based ETL, dynamically builds a financial intelligent datamodel. This datamodel can be run on Azure or directly in Power BI, depending on your companies’ data volumes. |
Our model enables you to fully utilize your CCH® Tagetik FST’s, on the fly currency translation and segment reporting for runtime intercompany eliminations. They are all fully synchronized soyou can keep managing your application in CCH® Tagetik only.
I have a connection between Power BI and CCH® Tagetik. Why do I need cpmVision?
When working with CCH® Tagetik data, you need more than just the financial scenarios. Take for example segment reporting and FST’s. These form the basis of your reporting structure, but are not automatically available through a standard Power BI connector. With cpmVision all the financial intelligence from CCH® Tagetik is also available in Power BI – still managed within CCH® Tagetik.
Is my datamodel ready for cpmVision?
It should be, we are happy to assist you in integrating data models in Power BI.
Can non-CCH® Tagetik users access cpmVision reports?
Yes, you can share the cpmVision reports with everyone who has access to Power BI.
And yes, there is (row level) security in place. You can manage who can see which data, in which reports directly in CCH® Tagetik, cpmVision synchronizes this for you to Power BI. Integrating with SharePoint and Office365 makes collaborating easier than ever.
Do I need Power BI experience to work with cpmVision?
Our connector does all the difficult data modelling for you. Working with the reports and dashboards means working with Power BI, and that of course takes some getting used to. But because all CCH® Tagetik dimensions, metadata and FST’s are available, you will recognize your company’s reporting structures. It will just much more interactive and much more beautiful.
